How to use this site effectively?
The key to success with this site is to move back and forth between descriptions of the criteria and the actual marking criteria, which is located in the bottom right and called "Criteria descriptor". So, in other words, the main idea is to first get an idea about what you're supposed to do, and then focus on how your work will ultimately be assessed. Later on, when I have time, I will add clear examples of each element of the MYP project.
In order to achieve success in this course, it is necessary for you to change your way of thinking to place the "process" ahead of the "product" in terms of importance. In other words, the key element in this course is not "completion" of a particular "product", but rather the "documentation" of the process that is involved in developing and refining your product or solution.
So, in order to keep track of your progress, it is necessary that you buy a hard covered journal book. They are available from the school shop for a nominal fee, but any hard covered lined notebook will normally suffice. As you build your project, the idea is for you to keep your research and insights in the journal. Later on, when it is time for you to produce the "write-up", the journal will be very useful as a kind of rough draft of your final project.
